As of 17th September 2008 I shall be commencing studies on the MA Professional Acting course at the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts (ALRA) in London. This course will run for the duration of one year.

The course is intensive in nature and is split over four terms, with ongoing classes in the core skills of voice, movement and acting. There will be further classes in improvisation, story-telling, singing and social dance, as well as a scripted research project and studies in C19th and early C20th realism and Shakespeare. All scheduled classes will be supported by termly tutorials and furthered by regular workshops with industry professionals, ranging from Commedia through to audition technique.

The third term will pay particular attention to recorded performance, and will culminate in projects for both screen and radio. During this time I will learn about the artistic, technical and practical techniques necessary to develop a methodology to work with scripts and to transform the written word into life. I will gain a thorough understanding of recording practices, and will learn the skills necessary to enable the realisation of a performance for screen and radio.

During the course you will have the opportunity to see my practice develop through attendance at the public productions at the ALRA theatre in Wandsworth, as well as at the end of year showcase at a London West End Theatre – details of which will be posted here closer to the time.
